The project expanded Concourse C from ten aircraft parking positions with eight gates to sixteen aircraft parking positions and sixteen gates.
To accommodate the Concourse expansion, extensive apron and taxiway reconfiguration was required. The hydrant fueling system and fuel farm were also expanded and reconfigured to accommodate the increased number of gates.
The Stem In-Fill and Remodeling Phase included building additions and a complete retrofit of finishes and mechanical / electrical systems while allowing full airline and passenger use of the Concourse. The remodeled Stem includes a new security checkpoint with increased capacity and provides eight gates with updated passenger hold rooms.
The Hammerhead Phase provides eight gates and passenger lounge areas in a new addition at the north end of the Stem.
The Project included a significant public art component, a terrazzo and tile floor designed by Carlos Alves.
