The project includes two primary functional components and revisions to the easterly campus master plan to provide an updated image, physical enclosed connectivity to surrounding facilities and infrastructure for future facilities.
A new 120 bed skilled care nursing facility consists of an administrative wing and three residential wings with 106 private rooms and 7 double rooms. Each wing of each floor is a residential cluster, which are brought together as a community by common dining, living and nursing areas. One first floor wing is designed for Alzheimer’s care and includes a healing garden. The building was designed as a model for a future second nursing facility.
One wing of an existing neighboring building was renovated to serve as an adult day health care center, which includes community – based activities for residents and visitors. A second wing of this building was renovated to serve as administrative offices for the retirement center staff.
